US Sales Tax Rate Updates for October 2023

The following state, county, municipal and district taxes are set to change effective October 1, 2023. The rate changes below will be automatically reflected in the Fonoa tax engine.

Alabama

The town of Orville will increase the general sales tax rate from 3.5% to 4.5%.

Arkansas

The city of Banks has enacted sales tax at the rate of 1.0%.The city of Alma will decrease the sales tax rate from 2.0% to 1.0%.The city of Brinkley will decrease the sales tax rate from 3.0% to 2.0%.

Georgia

The county of Rockdale will increase the sales tax rate from 3.0% to 2.0%.

Minnesota

Starting October 1, 2023, there will be two new metro county area sales and use taxes. The tax applies to retail sales made into any of the following counties: Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington.-Metro Area Transportation Sales and Use Tax at the rate of 0.75%-Metro Area Sales and Use Tax for Housing at the rate of 0.25%The city of Fergus Falls will implement a new city level sales tax at the rate of 0.5%.

North Dakota

The city of Forman will increase the sales tax rate from 1.5% to 2.5%.

Ohio

Knox County will increase the sales tax rate from 7.00 % to 7.25 %.

Texas
