The following state, county, municipal, and district taxes are set to change effective October 1, 2025.

The rate changes below will be automatically reflected in the Fonoa tax engine.

Alabama

The City of Vernon has increased their sales and use taxes. The City of Graysville has decreased the grocery rate only for sales and use taxes.

Alaska

Seasonal rate changes are applicable from October 2025 in Craig City, Seldovia City, Ketchikan City, Pelican City, Skagway Municipality, and City and Borough of Sitka.

Arizona

The Transaction Privilege Tax rate has changed in the Town of Clifton and in the City of Maricopa. A new special district has been created, known as the Phoenix Special Tax District & Special Taxing District of Maricopa.

Arkansas

There will be sales and use tax rate changes in several jurisdictions in Arkansas.

California

City of Dos Palos and City of Oakland approved a new 0.5 percent tax, and the City of Sebastopol increased its sales tax rate by 0.25%. Further information on the rate changes is published here.

DC

Washington, D.C. originally planned to raise the general sales tax rate in two steps:

  • From 6.0% to 6.5% starting in fiscal year 2026, and
  • From 6.5% to 7.0% in fiscal year 2027.

A recent amendment repeals the first step of this increase.

  • The tax will remain at 6.0% in 2026 (no mid-step raise).
  • The planned increase to 7.0% in 2027 is still in place and will go ahead unless further changes are made.

Georgia

There will be sales and use tax rate changes in Bibb, Liberty, Putnam, and Rabun counties.

Kansas

There will be sales and use tax rate changes in several jurisdictions in Kansas.

Louisiana

East Baton Rouge Parish, St. Landry Parish, and St. Martin Parish will have local sales and use tax changes.

Missouri

Several jurisdictions will have sales and use tax rate changes in Missouri.

North Dakota

The City of Colfax will impose a city sales, use, and gross receipts tax of 2%, and the City of Wahpeton has adopted an ordinance to increase its city sales, use, and gross receipts tax by 1%. Further details on the rate changes can be found here.

Ohio

The sales and use tax rate for Brown County will decrease from 7.25% to 7.00% effective October 1, 2025.

Oklahoma

There will be sales and use tax changes in the City of Lindsay, City of Seminole, City of Spavinaw, City of Stonewall, and a sales tax rate change in the City of Rocky. Further details on the rate changes can be found here.

Texas

Many cities have increased or adopted additional city sales and use taxes, some cities have abolished city sales and use taxes, and some special purpose districts (SPD) have adopted a local sales and use tax in Texas.
