Portugal postpones mandatory B2G e-invoicing for SMEs and microenterprises once again

The Portuguese 2024 Budget Law has postponed, once again, the deadline for mandatory B2G e-invoicing for medium, small, and microenterprises, as well as entities of the public administration.

The new go-live date for the obligation to issue electronic invoices in transactions with the public administration for these groups is January 1, 2025. The updated timeline is already available on the Public Administration Shared Services Entity (ESPAP) website, which is the entity that coordinates the implementation of B2G e-invoicing in Portugal.

This means that SMEs, microenterprises, and entities of the public administration have an extra year to ensure compliance with the mandate.
