Synapse Terms of Participation

By registering for the Event through our online registration system, you expressly agree to these Terms & Conditions and acknowledge that your electronic consent constitutes your signature and acceptance under applicable electronic signature laws, including the U.S. E-SIGN Act, the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA), and the UK Electronic Communications Act 2000. Your online acceptance has the same legal force as a physical signature.

EVENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS 

  • Eligibility & Registration: Participation is open to individuals meeting criteria communicated by Fonoa Technologies Limited (hereinafter referred to as “Fonoa”). Registration may be public, customer-only, partner-only, invite-only. Registrations are personal and non-transferable unless otherwise stated. 
  • Fees: Unless stated otherwise, the event is free. For paid events, the registration fee and included items will be communicated. Attendees are responsible for travel, accommodation, visas, insurance, and incidental expenses. 
  • Capacity and Confirmation: Registration does not guarantee attendance. Attendance may depend on capacity, waitlists or written confirmation.  
  • Cancellations, Changes, and Postponement: Attendees may cancel by notifying Fonoa. Fonoa may cancel, postpone, or modify the event at its discretion. If a paid event is canceled by Fonoa, registration fees will be refunded. 
  • Event Program: The program may include talks, panels, presentations, workshops, networking, and other activities. Subject to change. 

CODE OF CONDUCT

  • Expected Behaviour: Fonoa is dedicated to providing a safe, inclusive, and professional environment. Attendees are expected to behave respectfully towards others and comply with all venue rules. Attendees must maintain respectful, inclusive behavior and avoid any behavior or actions that would subject any Attendee or staff member to harassment or discrimination. 
  • Zero-Tolerance Policy: We have a zero-tolerance policy towards: (a) Harassment, discrimination, or intimidation of any kind; (b) Abusive or threatening language or physical conduct; and (c) Excessive intoxication or disruptive behaviour that compromises the safety or enjoyment of the Event for others. Fonoa reserves the right to remove any attendee violating the Code of Conduct. 
  • Badges and Identification: Attendees may be required to show ID and must wear badges when required. 
  • Accessibility and Special Requirements:  Attendees may indicate accessibility needs during registration. Fonoa will attempt reasonable accommodations. 

ACTIVITIES AND ASSOCIATED RISKS:

Attendees have consented  to participate in Synapse 2026 and its associated sessions, workshops, networking activities, and other program elements (hereinafter collectively referred to as “the Activities”), which are organized by Fonoa . I understand and acknowledge the following:

  • The Activities are professional, in-person events that may involve typical risks associated with conferences, including but not limited to: crowded spaces, slips or falls, minor injuries, exposure to communicable illnesses, dietary allergens, and other risks inherent in attending gatherings in public venues.
  • As a consequence of these risks or other risks not listed here, Attendees may experience illness, injury, or property damage.
  • Medical facilities, emergency services, or specialized accommodations may be limited or delayed depending on the venue or circumstances.
  • Fonoa does not provide medical care during the Activities, and Attendees are responsible for any medical treatment, hospitalization, or evacuation expenses that Attendees may incur.
  • In consideration of the opportunity to attend and participate in the Activities, I agree to the terms contained in this document.

ASSUMPTION OF THE RISKS:

I hereby freely assume the inherent risks as well as any other risks not listed that are part of these Activities, and any harm, injury, illness, or loss that may occur to me or my property as a result of my participation in the Activities or during any transportation to or from the Activities—including any injury, illness, or loss caused by the negligence of Fonoa, its employees, agents and officers, its contractors, and other Activities participants. I also understand that any equipment that I provide or may borrow or rent from Fonoa or any other provider I use at my own risk and that any such equipment is provided without any warranty about its condition or suitability. Registration and participation in the Event are subject to Fonoa’s Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data. By registering or attending, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of the Privacy Policy available at https://www.fonoa.com/privacy.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY

A. Fonoa’s Liability: Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes Fonoa’s liability for: (1) Death or personal injury caused by its negligence; (2) Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (3) Any other liability which cannot be limited or excluded by applicable law. Subject to the above, as the Event is provided free of charge, Fonoa shall not be liable to you, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, for any:

  • Loss of profit, business, or revenue;
  • Loss or corruption of data;
  • Indirect or consequential loss arising under or in connection with the Event; or
  • Loss or damage to personal property. You acknowledge that you are solely responsible for the safety of your personal belongings while at the venue.

B. Attendee Indemnity: You agree to indemnify and hold Fonoa, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents harmless from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (1) Your violation of these Terms or the Code of Conduct; (2) Your negligence, willful misconduct, or violation of any law during the Event; or (3) Any damage to the venue or equipment caused by you.

AGREEMENT TO FOLLOW DIRECTIONS: I agree to follow the rules for the Activities provided to me and to follow directions given to me by the leaders of the Activities.

INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS: I acknowledge that Fonoa has no control over and assumes no responsibility for the actions of any independent contractors providing any services for the Activities.

USE OF MY LIKENESS: I understand that during the Activities I may be photographed or videotaped. To the fullest extent allowed by law, I waive all rights of publicity or privacy or pre-approval that I have for any such likeness of me or use of my name in connection with such likeness, and I grant to Fonoa and its assigns permission to copyright, use, and publish (including by electronic means) such likeness of me, whether in whole or part, in any form, without restrictions, and for any purpose.

SEVERABILITY: If any provision or part-provision of this Agreement is or becomes invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, it shall be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, legal, and enforceable. If such modification is not possible, the relevant provision or part-provision shall be deemed deleted. Any modification to or deletion of a provision or part-provision under this clause shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the rest of this Agreement. 

APPLICABLE LAW AND FORUM: This Agreement shall be construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without any reference to its choice of law rules. I agree that any dispute arising from this Agreement or in any way associated with the Activities shall be brought only in the competent court in London, UK and I agree to the jurisdiction and venue of those courts for any such dispute.
