The French Ministry of Economy and Finances announced a pilot program on e-invoicing and is now calling for volunteers to participate in the program.

Timeline

Companies can apply to the program - which will run from January 3 until June 30, 2024 - by submitting their application no later than June 26, 2023.

Impact

Starting from July 1, 2024, the obligation for 1) all companies to receive electronic invoices and 2) for large companies to issue them will enter into force in France. The main objective behind the implementation of mandatory e-invoicing is to simplify administrative obligations, reduce fraud, and improve the transparency of business activity.

The pilot program is intended to test, in real conditions, the proper functioning of the e-invoicing systems. The launch of the pilot program is an effective way to find missing components in the new mandatory e-invoicing flow.

How can businesses participate in the pilot program?

Interested companies must bring together a team consisting of a few voluntary suppliers and customers, their software publishers, and potentially their e-invoicing platform. The list of partner platforms will be published on the impots.gouv.fr website. Each team will have a leader who will act as the main point of contact for the French administration.

An application form must be submitted to participate in the pilot.
