France is months away from one of Europe's most significant e-invoicing overhauls to date. Fonoa is now a certified Accredited Platform to help you comply.
France’s e-invoicing reform timeline and requirements
From September 1 2026, all French-established businesses must be able to receive electronic invoices. Large and intermediate-sized enterprises established in France must also begin issuing e-invoices and reporting transaction data to the DGFiP from the same date. SMEs and micro-enterprises follow from September 1 2027.
To operate within the new framework, businesses must route invoices through a certified Accredited Platform (PA), and Fonoa is now officially one of them.
For a full breakdown of how the reform works, including the 5-corner model, invoice flows, and e-reporting scope, check out our dedicated blog series on France's e-invoicing reform.
What Fonoa’s accredited platform (PA) certification includes
Being certified as a PA puts Fonoa at the heart of this ecosystem, acting as compliant middleware between suppliers, buyers, and the tax administration.
That means customers can rely on Fonoa to:
- Issue, transmit, and receive structured electronic invoices in all compliant formats: Factur-X, UBL, and UN/CEFACT CII
- Directly integrate with the French Public Invoice Portal (PPF) and the Central Directory (Annuaire)
- Provide full support for both e-invoicing and e-reporting obligations
Businesses using Fonoa need only a single API connection to cover France alongside 100+ other countries worldwide. You can verify Fonoa's certification on the official DGFiP list at impots.gouv.fr.
How businesses should prepare for France’s e-invoicing mandate
Companies operating in France should confirm they are connected to a certified PA before the September 2026 deadline. Choosing a PA that also covers international compliance needs can reduce integration complexity significantly. With Fonoa's certification now confirmed, customers have a single, trusted partner for France and beyond.
